Knife Clinic

Payment Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026

Paying for a Knife Clinic order should be the easiest part of the whole experience. This page explains how payments work on our website: which methods we accept, when you are charged, how discount codes behave, and what happens if a payment does not go through. If anything here leaves you with a question, email knifeclinic.ae@gmail.com and we will sort it out.

Payments are processed by Shopify

Every payment on our website is handled by Shopify’s secure checkout — the same payment infrastructure used by millions of stores worldwide. When you pay, you are entering your details into Shopify’s encrypted, PCI-compliant payment system, not into our website.

Knife Clinic never sees, receives, or stores your card number or wallet credentials. The only thing we receive is a confirmation of whether the payment succeeded, together with the order details needed to start your sharpening service.

Accepted payment methods

At checkout you can pay with any of the following:

  • Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and other cards supported by Shopify checkout).
  • Apple Pay — on supported Apple devices and browsers.
  • Google Pay — on supported devices and browsers.

Currency

All prices on our website are listed, and all payments are charged, in UAE dirhams (AED). If your card is issued in another currency, your bank will convert the amount at its own exchange rate and may apply its own fees — those are set by your bank, not by us.

When you are charged

Payment is taken in full at the time you place your order. There are no deposits, instalments, or charges on collection — once your checkout is complete, the full service price has been paid and nothing further is owed for that order.

Discount codes

Discount codes — including the 10% welcome code from our first-visit popup — are applied at checkout by entering the code in the discount field before payment.

A few simple rules apply to every code: one discount code per order; codes cannot be combined with each other; codes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money or credit; and a code cannot be applied retroactively to an order that has already been placed. Some codes may carry an expiry date or other conditions stated when they are issued.

Subscriptions — coming soon

We are working on subscription plans for regular sharpening, but they have not launched yet, and no subscription charges of any kind are currently taken. When subscriptions go live, the full billing terms — price, billing frequency, and how to cancel — will be presented clearly to you before any charge is made, and nothing will ever be billed without your explicit agreement.

Failed or declined payments

If a payment fails or is declined, no order is created and your knives are not booked for collection — you can simply try again with the same or a different payment method. Declines are decided by your bank or card issuer, not by us, so if a card keeps failing the quickest fix is usually to contact your bank or switch to Apple Pay or Google Pay.

In the rare case where an amount appears reserved on your card after a failed attempt, that reservation is released automatically by your bank, typically within a few business days.

Receipts

As soon as your payment is confirmed, an order confirmation and receipt are sent automatically to the email address you provided at checkout. It shows the services ordered, any discount applied, and the total paid in AED. If you need an additional copy or a correction to the details on your receipt, write to knifeclinic.ae@gmail.com with your order number.
