Refund & Satisfaction Policy

We sharpen knives for a living, so we are happy to be judged by our edges. This page explains the promise at the heart of Knife Clinic — the 14-day satisfaction window — along with how cancellations, refunds, and transit claims work. The short version: if an edge does not delight you, we will make it right at no cost to you.
The 14-day satisfaction window
Every order is covered by our satisfaction promise. If you are not satisfied with any sharpened edge, tell us within 14 days of the day your knives were delivered back to you, and we will re-sharpen those knives completely free — including courier collection and return delivery, both on us.
There is no form to fight through and no burden of proof. Cut a tomato, slice an onion, judge the edge in your own kitchen. If it does not perform the way a freshly sharpened knife should, we want it back on our stones.
How to use the satisfaction promise
Getting a free re-sharpen takes three steps:
- Step 1 — Contact us by email at knifeclinic.ae@gmail.com or by WhatsApp, within 14 days of return delivery. Include your order number and tell us which knives you are not happy with.
- Step 2 — We send you a return kit or arrange a courier collection from your address, whichever suits you. Pack the affected knives just as you did the first time.
- Step 3 — We re-sharpen the knives and return them to your door within our standard 7-day turnaround, with tracked shipping in both directions and nothing to pay.
Cancelling before your kit ships
Changed your mind right after ordering? If you cancel before we ship your protective kit, you receive a full refund of everything you paid — no questions, no deductions. Just email us with your order number as soon as possible.
Cancelling after collection, before sharpening
If your knives have already been collected but work on them has not started, you can still cancel. We will return your knives to you untouched and refund what you paid minus the shipping costs already incurred for the kit and courier. We will tell you the exact deduction before confirming the cancellation, so there are no surprises.
Once sharpening is done
Sharpening is a service, and once it has been performed it cannot be undone — so we do not issue refunds after your knives have been sharpened. What protects you instead, and what we believe protects you better, is the satisfaction promise above: any edge you are not happy with is re-sharpened free, courier included, within the 14-day window.
How refunds are paid
All refunds go back to the original payment method used at checkout — the same card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay account — in AED. Once we confirm a refund, it is processed through Shopify immediately on our side; banks and card networks then take 5–10 business days to show the money in your account. If a refund has not appeared after 10 business days, contact us with your order number and we will trace it.
Damaged in transit
Both legs of every order travel with a tracked courier, and the protective kit is designed to keep blades safe in transit. If, despite that, a knife arrives back to you damaged, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the damage and the packaging. We will investigate with the courier and put it right — by repair, re-sharpening, or compensation up to the reasonable replacement value of the knife, consistent with our Terms of Service.
A note on fairness
We honour this policy generously and we ask only for reasonable use in return. The satisfaction promise covers the quality of our sharpening work; it does not cover damage caused after return delivery, normal edge wear from use over time, or knives that were not part of the original order. Where we believe the promise is being misused, we may decline repeat claims on the same order — but in years of sharpening, genuine cases have been the rule and we treat every claim in good faith.
