Knife Clinic

Terms of Service

Last updated: June 10, 2026

These terms govern your use of Knife Clinic, a mail-in knife sharpening service based in Dubai and serving all seven emirates of the UAE. By placing an order on our website you agree to the terms below. We have kept them as readable as possible — if anything is unclear, email us at knifeclinic.ae@gmail.com before you order and we will gladly explain.

What the service is

Knife Clinic sharpens kitchen knives by mail. You place an order online, choose how many knives you want sharpened, and we send you a protective shipping kit. You pack your knives into the kit, our courier collects it from your address, our sharpeners restore each edge to the manufacturer’s specifications, and the knives are returned to your door. The full journey — from collection to return delivery — takes no more than 7 days.

Orders are placed through our Shopify-powered checkout and paid in UAE dirhams (AED).

Order size: minimum 5, maximum 20

Each order covers a minimum of 5 knives and a maximum of 20 knives. This range keeps the shipping kit, courier handling, and turnaround time predictable for everyone.

If you have more than 20 knives — for example, a restaurant set or a large household collection — write to knifeclinic.ae@gmail.com and we will prepare an individual quote with its own arrangements.

Your responsibilities

A safe and smooth service depends on a few things only you can do. When you order with us, you agree to:

  • Pack your knives securely in the protective shipping kit we provide, following the packing instructions included with it.
  • Send only the number of knives covered by your order, and only knife types we accept (see the limitations in our Disclaimers page — for example, we cannot service ceramic blades).
  • Declare any special requirements or known issues in advance — a loose handle, a previous repair, a chip you want assessed — so our sharpeners know what they are working with.
  • Be reachable at the contact details on your order, and make the packed kit available to the courier at the agreed collection address.

Our responsibilities

In return, here is what we commit to on every order:

  • Tracked courier transport in both directions — from your door to our workshop and back again.
  • Professional sharpening of every accepted knife to the manufacturer’s specifications, including the correct edge angle for the blade.
  • A door-to-door turnaround of no more than 7 days from collection to return delivery.
  • Clear communication if anything unexpected comes up with your knives along the way.

Items we cannot service

Occasionally a knife arrives that we cannot responsibly sharpen — a cracked ceramic blade, a structurally compromised tang, or a blade type outside our service scope. When that happens, we will inform you, leave the item untouched, and return it to you unsharpened together with the rest of your order. You will not be charged extra for the return of a non-serviceable item.

Care, liability, and its limits

We treat every knife that enters our workshop as if it were our own, and our process is built around careful handling at every step. Nevertheless, it is fair that both sides know where liability begins and ends.

If a knife is lost or damaged while in our custody — from the moment the courier collects your packed kit until return delivery — our liability is limited to the reasonable replacement value of that knife. We may ask for proof of value, such as a receipt or the maker and model, to settle a claim fairly.

We may decline to sharpen items that arrive structurally damaged or unsafe to work on, and minor cosmetic changes inherent to professional sharpening (described in our Disclaimers) are not considered damage. We are not liable for damage caused by inadequate packing where the provided kit and instructions were not used.

Accounts and accurate information

Creating a customer account is optional — guest checkout is always available. Whether or not you hold an account, you agree to provide accurate, current information when ordering: a wrong address or unreachable phone number can delay collection or delivery, and we cannot be responsible for delays caused by incorrect details. If you do create an account, you are responsible for keeping its credentials secure.

Prices

All prices on our website are shown in UAE dirhams (AED). The price you see at checkout is the price you pay for that order. We may change our prices from time to time, but a change never affects an order you have already placed — only future orders.

Governing law

These terms, and every order placed with Knife Clinic, are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute that we cannot resolve together amicably falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of the UAE.

We may update these terms as the service evolves. The version published on this page at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order. Questions are always welcome at knifeclinic.ae@gmail.com.
